Washington DC based florist Daniel Espejel, owner of Flowers by Daniel, is a custom florist who has been doing events for Washingtonians for over 15 years.

Among the many events Flowers by Daniel has decorated are: The annual Kennedy Center Honors Gala, The Library of Congress Bicentennial Celebration, The Kuwait American Foundation Gala and Pope Benedict XVI visit to Washington in 20008.

He was the official florist to the Vice-President’s Residence in Observatory Circle while the Cheney’s were stationed there from 2001 to 2009.

He has worked and still works for many diplomatic Residences in the area, including The Japanese Embassy, The Canadian Embassy, The French Embassy, The Italian Embassy and The Kuwait Embassy among others.

His clients include distinguished members of Washington's elite, from Heads of State to many of Washington's most prominent social figures.

His work has been featured in several publications including: Architectural Digest, Veranda, Traditional Home and Southern Accents.

His inspirations don’t always come from flowers, but rather photography, painting, fashion design, interior design, and more.   At the age of 13, he took his very first private art lesson, and fell in love with drawing and painting. He then realized that having a 3D canvas would be more rewarding. At the age of 25, he began to see flower arranging as art and began a journey as a florist, and after many years of working in some of Washington’s premiere florists, Daniel discovered that many of his clients desired and appreciated the individualized attention that larger store fronts often cannot offer, so he launched his own business. Now, he personally selects unique and different flowers from multiple suppliers all over the world, to ensure their quality and freshness.

As he says; "for many of my clients I am not just a florist, I am their florist!"
